Blogging, powerful tool for people

Title of this post is so clear, is it?

After more than a decade, blogging is shown that this tool can change life of many people during these years. For example, many famous journalists were blogger in Iran and because of their blog, they are journalist. One of best evidence is myself!

I was student of Chemical Engineering in Iran and I wrote a blog. After a few months, I invited to write in a newspaper in Tehran  because of my blogs and this was first step that I find the real thing I want in the world is “Journalism”.

Also, I know many bloggers from Iran are working in big media companies like BBC or VOA, etc. that shows blogging is a wonderful tools can change life of many people!

Do you agree with my opinion? If not please tell me…

Twitter is censoring tweets!

Previously, I wrote a post about censorship of Internet and I believe it is number one enemy of Internet.

Today, Twitter said they will censor tweets based on country and if a government asks this website to censor a specific tweet(s), Twitter will be removed them from that country not globally.

It means when you tweet in UK and UK government asks Twitter to remove it, this website will be removed it for UK users and other users around the world can read and see it.

However, this method is better that globally censor that contents completely remove from website, but it is too dangerous for the future of Internet.

What do you think?

18th of January 2012 was a unique day for Internet that big websites like Wikipedia, Google, Redit and around 7000 small websites protested to SOPA that US Congress was prepared it to fight online trafficking in copyrighted intellectual property and counterfeit goods.

In this day English Wikipedia joined blackout protest and when users came to English Wikipedia, they saw this page:

And Google covered its logo with black color to show its protest to SOPA:

And other websites that you can see their protest to SOPA from here.

After this protest, many Congressmen and women reacted to SOPA and they withdrew their support from it. Because of it, 18th January of 2012 is a unique day for Internet and all of netizens.

Facebook vs. Google+

One of the funny stories about launching Google Plus was reaction of users to it and compare it with Facebook. If you search G+ vs. Facebook, you can find more than 3 millions results that some of  them are so funny!

For example, a Youtube user, ‘stinkytrip‘ uploaded a video that mocked Facebook and show at the end of war between Google and Facebook, Goole Plus will be won.

Although most of users mocked both social networks, but some blogs like ‘Technobombs‘ published a cool inforgraphic that show what’s different between these social networtk.

Web 2.0 and its effect of life of people

I think Web 2.0 is a new era for Internet and without it we don’t have Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and also brilliant journalists at this time.

Web 2.0 help ordinary people can connect together, think together and watch together; It means Web 2.0 has effected on the human’s life and people feel their virtual world is like their real world. For example they are uploading their pictures, videos from wedding, birthday, etc in Facebook, Youtube, etc.

For example Youtube could change life of a homeless man and gave a chance to him for better life:

Internet and our life

In these days we can see Internet in all of dimensions of our life. We have Internet on our  home, mobile phone, car, etc. and we check email, upload pictures on Facebook or tweet our opinion on Twitter.

Or we can buy food, books and other staffs that show Internet has enormous role in our life and we cannot live without Internet!

Because of these reasons I think Internet is a one of our life part and all of people in the world must access to Internet. And we don’t forget Internet is not just a tools for uploading some pictures on our Facebook account; Internet can help poor and third world countries to educate their people with low cost.

Therefore, Internet has a enormous role in our life without any doubts and we must support Internet and its expansion in all of countries.

No.1 enemy of Internet: Censorship

In these years we are reading many news about censorship and filtering of Internet in different countries, from China (Father of filtering of Internet in the world) to UK . And it means number one enemy of Internet is censorship by government and it doesn’t matter in which country.

For example, David Cameron said UK may block social networks like Twitter during riot:

Free flow of information can be used for good. But it can also be used for ill. So we are working with the Police, the intelligence services and industry to look at whether it would be right to stop people communicating via these websites and services when we know they are plotting violence, disorder and criminality

Or Iran is blocking tens of thousands websites and blogs because of political issues. For example, all of social networks are blocked in Iran and users must use VPN or other circumvention tools to bypass it.
